Elf Spotting

Artist and HAINSWORTH.COM Facebook friend Robert J. Lewis points us in the direction of a Vanity Fair’s article on the bankrupt land of Bjork.
While it’s an extensive dissection of how the 300,000 strong fishing nation of Iceland reinvented itself as “The Wall Street on the Tundra,” a Slate Magazine blogger became understandably side tracked by the fact that a significant percentage of Icelanders believe in elves. 54% refuse to say they don’t, and 8% will swear up and down they exist. 3% claim they’ve seen one.
Americans ought not mock Icelanders: A Harris poll concluded 68% of Americans believe in angels, and 15% aren’t sure.
Vanity Fair reports:
Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are considered especially good occasions for elf-spotting. That’s because according to some legends, these holidays are traditional moving days for the huldufólk.
Y’know, kinda like how May 1st is Moving Day in Quebec…
