Around the Natural History museum were dozens of kids riding skateboards and drinking beer. Drinking in public is permitted in Paris, however it is frowned upon as being “lower class” — if you can afford to drink on a patio, you do.

Of course, La Tour Eiffel was our first destination on our first full day in Paris. The lineups were huge, but with elevators at three of the four corners, it was only about an hour wait — and once we got to the top, it seemed nobody was there.
