These are just three of the many images offered. I find them vaguely creepy — it makes me think of the lives of those who were living in the “present” back then, and our time was the distant future. What happened to these people? Did they fulfill their dreams? And what does this say about the importance we place on what we’re doing right now?

An awesome Flickr photo pool offers a window into the past lives of neighbourhoods and those who lived there.


These are really neat. I definitely get what you mean about the time difference being creepy. The “newer” image is already hinting at its being old in turn, as we imagine another “newer” image coming to replace it yet again. Accentuated when the “older” image is a real (chemical) photograph and the new one is digital. You could have a great installation there, focusing on Bay St.!
