Apple’s next iPhone (Update 3 – video confirmed, June launch)
The ninjas at Boy Genius Report managed to trick a current generation iPhone into thinking it has the chip necessary to do video — and, sure enough, the beta of firmware v3.0 revealed a “switch” at the bottom of the camera interface to select video recording instead of still image. This backs up evidence that the MobileMe online email and storage service from Apple will soon support an “upload my video” button. Meantime, Digitimes is quoting a Chinese-language newspaper, Commercial Times, as saying components for the 3.2MP camera and other chips are now being shipped to local assemblers for a June launch.
