HAINSWORTH.COM reader and main squeeze to the Editor in Chief, Ann Hainsworth informs us comedian Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Da Ali G Show” character Brüno showed up at an Alabama National Guard post.
"Bruno"
Cohen is filming a movie based upon the third of three characters from Da Ali G Show and was busted in Birmingham. Gay Austrian fashion reporter “Brüno” was at the Alabama Military Academy February 13th, prancing about in a thong before one of the young cadets recognized Cohen and told his superiors they had been duped.
They called and said they were a German affiliate of a TV station doing a documentary on what it was like to be in officer candidate school. They wanted to know if they could come here and embed one person for a few hours up to a day. He was treated like a member of the media and escorted around. He was put in a uniform like he requested to allow him to get a taste of what it was like to be an officer candidate. It’s an embarrassment to the Alabama National Guard. Since then we have put in protocols to make sure this doesn’t happen again. - Staff Sgt. Katrina Timmons
The latest film is titled Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America For The Purpose Of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable In The Presence Of A Gay Foreigner In A Mesh T-Shirt.
A screening of 20 minutes of footage was reportedly set for the SXSW festival in Austin.
While mocking pastors trying to convert gays and making southern soldiers uncomfortable is fun, it’s when Bruno interviews vapid fashionistas that he really shines. Here’s a clip from Da Ali G Show:
